This section helps to identify the product and vendor or manufacturer.

Vendor Name - This will be the legal name of the product vendor. It will be who makes the product rather than is selling the product.

Product Name - This will be the official name of the product.

Product Description - This will be a brief description as provided by the product vendor.

Examples:

  • "MATLAB is a programming and numeric computing platform used by millions of engineers and scientists to analyze data, develop algorithms, and create models."
  • "LabVIEW is a graphical programming environment that provides unique productivity accelerators for test system development, such as an intuitive approach to programming, connectivity to any instrument, and fully integrated user interfaces. "

Use Case - This will be how you intend to use the product, but at a general level that anyone can understand without having your background in your subject matter.

Vendor Contact Information

Deadlines

This section allows you to identify if there is a deadline for the purchase and/or implementation of this product.

Non-Standard Computer System

You will only see this section if you indicated that the product was a non-standard computer or if your instrumentation came with a preconfigured, dedicated computer system.

Is the computer a customer hardware build? - Is it built custom by the instrument manufacturer or application and not a standard computer purchasable from a computer manufacturer?
