For Faculty and Staff
Use our university-wide online learning tools—Canvas, Zoom and AppsAnywhere. Canvas and Zoom are available to all faculty and students.
Canvas
A Canvas course is automatically created for every course at S&T which the instructor will need to make available to students. Please contact CAFÉ at café.mst.edu for more in-depth information.
Zoom
Zoom is a videoconference and audio conference software hosted in the cloud that enables communication across many mobile devices, desktop computers and video-enabled classrooms.
Suggested Guides for Zoom
- Guide to Securing Your Classroom: Learn how to lock your virtual classroom, control screen sharing, enable a waiting room, lock down chat sessions, remove participants, and explore security options when scheduling a class.
- Guide to Preventing Session Crashers: Learn how to keep univited guests from "crashing" your Zoom meetings.
AppsAnywhere
AppsAnywhere is a service that allows S&T provided software to be accessed from all CLC computers, IT managed computers and personal devices running Windows 10.
Proctor U for online tests
As the coronavirus (COVID-19) situation continues to unfold, Global learning is working to address the potential increased need for proctored services on our campus. These services are provided through ProctorU, a third-party vendor. Faculty are encouraged to contact global learning by email (global@mst.edu) or phone (573-341-6591) for help setting up proctored tests.
As we prepare for the potential of moving all campus courses online, it is critical that we explore options that allow for flexibility without reducing outcomes. We encourage faculty to review various testing options that will yield the same learning results. This includes non-monitored testing (i.e. open books, notes, take-home exams or Canvas quizzes) verses monitored proctored testing.
The Testing Center https://testcenter.mst.edu/ can provide instructions for setting up times to meet individual student accommodations.
