Since Windows 11's release in October 2021, IT has been steadily working towards upgrading all computers attached to the S&T campus network to the new operating system. The deadline for this upgrade program is October of 2025, coinciding with Windows 10's end of life. At that point, Windows 10 will stop receiving security updates, and continuing to operate computers on Windows 10 will pose a risk to the online safety of the campus community. As shown in the chart below, 64% of computers on campus are currently running on Windows 11.
